Overall, an excellent tool. One problem I noticed, when I save on map, it seems to change other saved maps. maybe I am not going from project to a new project correctly.

Saving function still have problem. Both saving option will not work if you create several small area inside one big just saving the last small area . Other than that, SUPERB !

Are we able to get the dimensions on the side of the outlines? maybe i am missing something here.

This is a great tool! Any chance of making the code available?

Hi Mike, thanks for the suggestion. This has now been added.

Thank you for creating such a great tool, having the flexibility to move markers without having to redraw is just so handy for accuracy. I notice that now (version 6.18) when I draw round an area I now gain automatic intermediate nodes and when the markers are toggled to off all the nodes remain visible. Any chance of an option of not having intermediate nodes plus any nodes being made to be invisible when the markers are toggled or to have the option of making them invisible as this gives a much clearer clean lined area.

mike, this has now been added.
By Daft Logic on 19th October 2017
Thank you very much for your site. It is extremely useful. Please note if you can add the ability to import intermediate nodes.

When pressing the little turn button the polygon shifts to cover other nearby objects. For example, if I press it once - it looks like the polygon also covers the trees. When I move back to the previous orientation it changes back.

Thank you so much for creating this tool and letting others use it free of charge. I am so glad I found it.

Jim Bo, there is no set period of time. It is ad-hoc

How often are maps updated? I need to measure sq ftg of a home lot in a new subdivision. The home has been occupied since May 2017 but the current map doesn't even show land as being cleared.

The option to spin will appear if 1) You are using Satellite view, 2) You have zoomed in close and 3) There is imagery available i.e. in large cities
By Daft Logic on 23rd September 2017
anyway to spin the point of view? it would be helpful when mapping buildings to be able to spin the view and see areas hidden by taller portions of buildings.

It only shows the latest imagery with no option to revert to previous versions.
By Daft Logic on 20th September 2017
Any way to toggle different years of imagery?

Hi Jason, thanks for the feedback. Do you have an example where this would be a benefit you (a use case)? It's good to weigh up any new features with an idea of who it would be useful to.
By Daft Logic on 12th September 2017
It would be very helpful if I could click on any two points of the area I have drawn and have the system calculate the distance between those two points. Having a distance calculator separate from the area calculator is not very helpful.

I can't get it to center on my area when I zoom in or out- ?

multiply the calculated area by ~1.009 to compensate for the bird's-eye view underestimation. Or to ensure yourself, obtain the area of a known pitch to you by this app and divide the real area by the obtained number ( better do this in multiple cases and use the average) in order to arrive at a more accurate correctional coefficient.

I created an area map and then saved it. Now when I pull up my saved information, it shows me a map where I was gathering information, but all the areas I mapped are missing. Is this how the "Save" feature is supposed to work?

Very nice App! Thank you.

Any chance you can make this in to a wordpress plugin?

Hi, Unfortunately ... no, the roof pitch is not considered. It will measure the birds-eye area which will be less than the actual roofing area.
By Daft Logic on 26th July 2017
Does DAft logic take into consideration of Roof Pitch when measuring area ?
On 25th July 2017
Hi Guy, as the areas can be any shape, its not possible to provide width / length. You can use the Distance Calculator to measure distances directly.
By Daft Logic on 20th July 2017
Very helpful tool. Any way to get width and length of a definded area
