This is a good tool but I have 10 teams so need to either have an option for a qualifier (4 teams play off the winners joining the other 6) or buys need to be eliminated in the first round.

byes need to be knocked out in round 1. you formula gave me byes all the way through, even a bye in the semi final so i could not use this tool at all. it is useless when byes are involved!!

A group stage would be awesome

I found this site and found it provided the simple solution I was looking for. However, having entered 29 names it only provided one bye when it should have been 3!! The result supplied gave a bye in the SECOND round which is abnormal so that the subsequent rounds worked out correctly. A little tweak required please.

Good piece of kit ... but you need to get all of the byes out of the way after round 1 and get to a knockout friendly number as quickly as poss ... 16,32,64,128 etc
By PJD on 20/02/2009
One thing I noticed with odd teams is that it may pick a Winner of the Match # from round 2 to get a bye in round 4, where the match picked included the only bye team from round 1. i.e. a team can be awarded 2 byes in two of the first three rounds!

I have already played 9 of my 36 1st round matches. I skipped match 5 for the time being: In my Fantasy League Coventry and Chelsea are 3rd and 4th seeds to take the Championship and the find themselves against eachother in the League Cup!!!
